The event will take place from 15 to 19 October at the Rio Olympic Velodrome and will bring together the best para-cyclists in the world
The official countdown has begun, with exactly 100 days remaining until the start of the 2025 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships, to be held from 15 to 19 October at the Barra da Tijuca Olympic Velodrome in Rio de Janeiro. The competition, organized by the Brazilian Cycling Confederation (CBC) in partnership with the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), will bring together athletes from various countries in the premier annual event of the discipline.
For the second consecutive time, Brazil will host the Para-cycling Track World Championships, reinforcing its leading role in the Paralympic scene. The 2024 edition was a technical and organizational success, with records broken and strong engagement across broadcasts and social media. Now, expectations are even higher, both for athletes and spectators, who will have the chance to witness top-level performances in events that are true demonstrations of resilience and determination.
“Para-cycling has grown tremendously in Brazil, and hosting the World Championships again is a source of great pride. We are working to deliver another outstanding event and ensure an unforgettable experience for everyone involved,” says Edilson Rocha “Tubiba,” Para-cycling Coordinator at CBC.
Since its creation in 2007, the UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships has established itself as the pinnacle of the season for athletes with physical or visual impairments. In Rio, competitions will take place across different classes and categories, including standard bicycles, adapted bikes, and tandems.
The 2025 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships is organized by the Brazilian Cycling Confederation (CBC) in partnership with the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), with institutional support from the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB), the Ministry of Sport, and the Rio de Janeiro City Hall, as well as partnerships with TBA, Shimano, and Santini.
